Had to have a quick review of Wiziq before thanking you. It seems very like "Wimba" - which is the virtual classroom used at the Uni where I work. I run tutorials for maths using this - pre made powerpoints with space to interact with students on each slide. However, I notice that Wiziq has a Maths Toolbar, which I would love to have in Wimba-- no doubt it will come.

Thanks Mark,
Good resource. Our Uni uses the moodle environment, which I really like, but the Wiki idea for a small community/class is really excellent. Joan

Hi Mark. Thanks for the link...I'm concerned however that users are either unaware or are blatantly disregarding copyright ownership. See http://www.wiziq.com/tutorial/22386-Business-English-Vocabulary-Test
posted on the WiziQ site...this is the sort of thing which gives new apps. a bad name! (Kazaa etc. and music file sharing apps)

Thanks for the tips, Mark. That's a twist on outsourcing. An Indian colleague just recommended an article on designing for emerging markets: http://interactions.acm.org/content/?p=1205

Hi Mark,
Several students in my classes actually have used authorstream for their asynchronous presentations. I did a brief "proof of concept" for them in authorstream - it's at http://tinyurl.com/bz3bdc - and related to my volunteer work. Students enjoy authorstream for its ease of use (uploading as well as accessing). Great product!
