What are your current professional responsibilities?
I consider solutions to be developed according to organizational contexts, specially regarding library-related issues as they become updated or present challenging aspects. I've been trying to conceal academic efforts and everyday practice, as well as to figure out the related experiences and challenges.
Why are you interested in joining Innovate-Ideagora?
I was already an occasional reader of Innovate articles, so I consider it would be very interesting to know more about Innovate-Ideagora network initiative and to contribute as well as I can.
What do you think are the most pressing issues/challenges in using technology to enhance the educational process?
I would depart from Walter J Ong's idea that our very language/writing skills are a powerful technology, or from Pierre Lévy's concerns about the myriad of interfaces around us. Both ideas remind me of they way human beings are to cope, nowadays, with complexity scales and cause-effect relationships which are not intended to be focused by formal education efforts, as we knew them some decades ago.
Thus, by reflecting about the level of cognitive solicitations for individuals and groups, as they live and cope with a deep-technology, overcodified world, we can start assessing how our habits and expectations around education are subject to change and revision.
As part of humanist-integrative efforts, technology-based initiatives can extend human experiences in a more reflective way instead of being wrongly deemed as restrictive and subject to unbalanced forces. The fundamental issue, I think, is to situate technologies as part of human acessible achievements so as their could foster feasible political goals, I mean, the ones which can make our human journey more meaningful and virtuous, considering also all the practical aspects that keep them sustainable.
